Siding FAQs
Isn’t vinyl siding a thing of the past?
Can I use vinyl siding over stucco?
The answer to this question is really dependant on the condition of the current siding. Sometimes stripping the old siding off is a necessary evil, however if the stucco is in decent shape and not flaking or falling off you may be able to strap overtop. “Strapping” refers to thin strips of wood, situated vertically on 16” centres that give something for the siding to be nailed into. It’s always best to line the strapping up with studs in behind which can be challenging to find in older homes.
